Alex has acted for a range of clients including developers, contractors and subcontractors in disputes arising during construction as well as in litigated proceedings.

Alex’s key experience includes:

• large scale litigation relating to commercial construction contracts in the District and Supreme Court of Queensland
• security of payment disputes in Queensland and Western Australia
• advising clients on all aspects of construction contracts including termination, cashing securities, latent defects, variations etc
• advising developers, contractors and subcontractors on all aspects of public liability, professional indemnity, management liability and contracts works policies
• performing risk reviews of insurance policies and negotiating with underwriters to obtain bespoke insurance policies for developers
• acting for the claimant in a security of payment application with a total disputed value of over $8,000,000 in relation to the Gorgon LNG Project on Barrow Island, Western Australia
• acting for a defendant in Supreme Court proceedings with a total disputed value over $3,000,000 regarding the construction of an Olympic swimming pool in Camden, New South Wales
• acting for a defendant in Supreme Court proceedings with a total disputed value over $4,000,000 regarding defective piling works for a 27 storey apartment building in Perth, Western Australia
