Jake is experienced in construction, infrastructure, energy, resources and renewables disputes across multiple jurisdictions and forums, including adjudication, court litigation, and international and domestic arbitration.

Jake’s recent experience includes:

  • Acting for a railway contractor in multiple payment disputes, including upstream (circa $400 million) and downstream (circa $150 million) arbitrations under the ACICA Rules in relation to an infrastructure project in New South Wales.
  • Acting for an EPC contractor in an international arbitration under the ICC Rules seated in Singapore involving a large dispute (circa $1.2 billion).
  • Acting for an EPC contractor in a security of payment dispute in relation to a solar farm project in New South Wales.
  • Advising a foreign government on matters concerning Australia’s security of payment legislative framework.
  • Advising a defence contractor on its potential liability for alleged defects under a large shipbuilding contract.
  • Acting for a property developer in Supreme Court proceedings concerning an application to injunct the developer from having recourse to bank guarantees provided as security pursuant to a construction contract.

 

Jake is also completing his Master of Laws (Construction Law) at the University of Melbourne.”
