Alexander is a Principal in our Litigation & Dispute Resolution team, offering over 12 years of experience in high-stakes, multi-jurisdictional construction disputes. He has advised and represented international contractors, state-owned entities, and government bodies on matters valued up to $1 billion, spanning projects across Australia, the Middle East, Europe, and Africa.
Beyond dispute resolution, Alex provides strategic counsel in the pre-contracting and contract management phase to help clients establish robust contract foundations. By reviewing key terms, clarifying scope, and aligning responsibilities, he can effectively manage the risk of future conflict. His deep understanding of technical construction issues further equips him to address potential risks – from variations and extension of time claims to site correspondence – before they escalate.
Drawing on prior experience from top-tier Australian and international firms, Alex is adept at all stages of the contracting process and conflict management, including court litigation, international arbitration, adjudications under security of payment legislation, and Dispute Adjudication Board proceedings. Clients value his commercial mindset and meticulous approach, which emphasises both legal protection and practical outcomes. Whether negotiating early or advocating vigorously in formal proceedings, Alex consistently focuses on safeguarding his clients’ interests and preserving the commercial viability of their projects.
