21 April 2025 – Tokyo
For the third consecutive year, CDI Lawyers will sponsor the ICC Tokyo Arbitration Day in 2025.
In a time of unprecedented Japanese foreign direct investment in Australia, there is a rising demand for pragmatic and effective partnerships between Japanese clients and their Australian lawyers. CDI has significant experience working closely with Japanese clients to navigate the traps and pitfalls of the construction, infrastructure, oil and gas, energy and mining industries within Australia. CDI’s team has supported Japanese clients on some of Australia’s most significant and cutting-edge projects, including the pilot phase of the Hydrogen Energy Supply Chain project in Victoria, and the Ichthys LNG project in the Northern Territory, the largest ever foreign investment of a Japanese company.
The 3rd ICC Tokyo Arbitration Day represents an invaluable opportunity to learn more about the role of effective communication between in-house and external counsel in dispute prevention and resolution for Japanese companies. This year, Christopher Rowden, Principal and Director of CDI Lawyers, will be speaking as part of a panel on the topic of “Navigating the crossroads of Disputes in the Infrastructure Industry: Dispute Boards and Arbitration“. The conference will also address the important topic of urgent and interim measures in arbitration proceedings.
Details are available via the ICC here.
In addition to Christopher, Thomas Law, Samantha Fry and Bianca Anderson will be representing the firm in Tokyo.
